Ulster second row forward Tim Barker has signed for French rugby union club Castres, team manger Jean-Philippe Swiadek revealed today.

Barker, 26, will beef up the second row which already includes  Argentine Rodrigo Capo Ortega, Samoan Joe Tekori and French duo Colin Gaston and Lionel Nallet.

Ireland's Barker joined Ulster in 2005 after two years with Glasgow Warriors.

Castres are currently seventh in the French rugby Top 14 championship.
