New Zealand Maori coach Donny Stevenson has made eight changes for the Churchill Cup match against Ireland A at Exeter.
Having swept aside Canada in their opening pool game, the title holders have delved into their squad for a major overhaul of their scrum.
Stevenson has selected an entirely new front-row in Craig West, Aled de Malmanche and Ben May, while a fourth change to the tight five sees Hayden Triggs replace Isaac Ross.
Tamati Ellison replaces fly-half Callum Bruce, while three-quarters Dwayne Sweeney and Hosea Gear replace Jason Kawau and Pehi Te Whare, and Shannon Paku starts at full-back instead of Glen Horton.
Stevenson said: ‘We are scheduled to play three games in eight days and on such a short and intense trip, it is important that our players are looked after.
‘We have a strong squad with quality players and we don't think the changes will affect the way we play.
‘We were determined to get our campaign off to a good start, and we achieved that.
‘The key for us now is to build on that and ensure that we play good rugby to advance to the final.’
Stevenson said: ‘Ireland A will be a challenge and the short turnaround in matches will certainly test us.’
Stevenson will choose between Scott Waldrom and Tanerau Latimer once the extent of the latter's facial injury has been ascertained.
