Ulster's already tenuous hopes of retaining the Magners League were blown away by a determined Glasgow effort at Ravenhill tonight.
Tries from Rory Lamont, John Barclay and John Beattie, who ran in a 75-metre interception try, were enough to give Sean Lineen's side a thoroughly deserved win.
It was a largely forgettable first half with the tone for the home side's performance set by Paddy Wallace's penalty miss after two minutes.
Nearly all the constructive rugby came from the Warriors and only a great pick up and drive from his own line from 100th-cap-winner Roger Wilson prevented the visitors from opening their account early on in the proceedings.
There was little of interest in the game until just before the 20th minute when a Wallace inside pass put Tommy Bowe into space and the Ireland international found Andrew Trimble, whose pass failed to put Andy Maxwell in the clear for a great scoring chance.
But Ulster's urgency did not last and four minutes before the half-hour they threw a long line-out ball to Stephen Ferris, who got wrapped up and conceded a penalty. Dan Parks made no mistake and the Warriors had the lead.
The score saw Glasgow - whose ball-carrying and tackling constantly had Ulster on the back foot - up the tempo and they should have scored a try on 34 minutes when Andrew Henderson made a clean break.
Henderson chose to go it alone, however, and a great Bowe tackle saved a certain score.
The Warriors did not squander their next chance and - deep in injury time - Rory Lamont dashed over after the forwards had done some great approach work. Parks converted and Glasgow led 10-0.
Ulster came out in the second half intent on making an impact but Bryn Cunningham dropped a scoring pass in the opening exchanges.
Still, Trimble did cross the line after 50 minutes following a great break from Wallace and scoring pass courtesy of Wilson.
However, Wallace missed the conversion and was promptly hauled off for David Humphreys who, shortly after coming on, tried an inside pass that was snapped up for Beattie's long-range score.
Parks added the points and then eight minutes after the hour Glasgow destroyed an Ulster scrum on the home side's line with Barclay getting the touchdown.
Parks again added a conversion from a tight angle and Ulster's hopes were extinguished. Andy Maxwell's 79th-minute try was of little consolation to the Ulstermen.
