Cardiff Blues won their opening game for the first time since the Celtic League - now the Magners League - was set up, but they made heavy weather of it against against weakened opposition, beating Munster 22-13.
Cardiff's first try arrived as centre Marc Stcherbina dummied to send Chris Czekaj over by the flag and flanker Scott Morgan just had the legs to beat the cover defence to the same corner for their second and decisive try.
Munster's last trip to Wales saw them win the Heineken Cup but tonight they could only grab one try, which came from Tim Ryan who crossed for a consolation.
