Utility back Matt Giteau has been cleared to play for Australia in this weekend's opening Tri-Nations match against New Zealand but Clyde Rathbone and Wycliff Palu were both ruled out with injury.
Giteau was in doubt after injuring his thumb playing club rugby at the weekend but was given the all clear after x-rays showed there was no fracture.
He will join a 22-man squad to be announced on Tuesday while Rathbone and Palu were both ruled out with hamstring problems.
Rathbone injured himself playing against Ireland last weekend while Palu, who made his test debut against England last month, broke down in training.
Wallabies coach John Connolly said loose forwards Scott Fava and John Roe would join the squad.
'Cliffy's (Palu) got a small tear in his hamstring which is not a serious one but we didn't want to risk doing further damage by playing him this weekend,' Connolly said in a statement.
'Clyde has progressed quite well since injuring his hamstring in Perth last week but is still a little bit off running at full pace.
'Again, it's not a serious problem but we thought it best to give him the extra week to get it right.'
