Ireland A must settle for place in the Plate Final of the Churchill Cup against the England Saxons after they lost 27-6 to the New Zealand Maoris.
The Maoris were pushed hard by Ireland's A side until two late tries from Hose Gear and Thomas Waldron eased them to victory.
Shannon Paku and Liam Messam also crossed the line for the Maori but Ireland were in touch at only 15-6 down until the final 10 minutes.
Ireland's points came via a Paddy Wallace penalty and a Robert Kearney drop goal.
