80 mins: A Biarritz forward pass halts the attack and ball is turned over, the Munster fans scream for the whistle.

80 mins: Biarritz tear through the Munster defence, making swift yards and Munster bodies are laid on the line to halt the advance.

78 mins: Pucciariello is down injured, and the game stops for a minute.

78 mins: Munster try and fail to rob from the Biarritz line-out, but hold up the men in white sufficiently to buy more time.

78 mins: An incisive Biarritz attack on the wing is stopped resolutely by Munster and Stringer, immense in the game if not in stature, clears the danger.

77 mins: Hurt bodies cover the pitch - Anthony Horgan is one of them - as Ronan O'Gara exhorts his team-mates to hold out for the last few minutes.

77 mins: Tense moments as the ball pings around seemingly uncontrolled by either side and the crowd roars their teams on. The clock ticks down.

76 mins: Quinlan now replaces O'Connell for Munster.

75 mins: A knock-on ensued from the line-out as Munster attempted to breach the Biarritz line.

75 mins: O'Gara finds touch and Jerry Flannery finds Paul O'Connell again, as the big man appears not to be hurt too badly.

75 mins: Worrying moments as Paul O'Connell receives medical attention and Alan Quinlan warms up on the sideline.

73 mins: O'Gara strokes it over again, having completely gotten over his brief kicking blip.
PENALTY: Munster 23 - 19 Biarritz

72 mins: Munster get a line-out and O'Flannery finds O'Driscoll as Munster hold onto the ball and Munster are given a penalty in dubious circumstances. It slows the game down at a key moment for the men in red.

71 mins: Mick O'Driscoll replaces Munster captain Anthony Foley.

70 mins: Yachvili shows no sign of the pressure, though, and strokes it over with ease. It is now a one-point game.
PENALTY: Munster 20 - 19 Biarritz

69 mins: The tension is immense as Munster surrender another penalty in a kickable position.

68 mins: Peyrelongue finds touch for Biarritz again and O'Connell gathers from Flannery's throw to set up the maul. O'Gara receives for the relieving kick as the pressure ratchets up a few notches in the final twelve minutes.

67 mins: Benjamin Noirot replaces Benoit August for Biarritz.

65 mins: Biarritz need cool heads to pull this one back, unfortunately errors abound in their game and Munster get a penalty after an infringement in the ruck and O'Gara, with his kicking back to form, finds the corner easily.

65 mins: Munster's line-out is superb, and the ball is secured for O'Gara to clear. But Biarritz are turning the screw as mistakes slip into Munster's game.

63 mins: O'Gara's kicking is once again suspect and Biarritz gather and Bidabe kicks to within two metres of Munster's line.

62 mins: Marcus Horan is replaced by Freddie Pucciariello.

61 mins: The screen in stadium shows images of a packed O'Connell Street in Limerick - as those who could not get tickets watch the game on a big screen set up for the game - and the fans in the stadium lift the noise level considerably.

59 mins: O'Gara kicks badly again, his penalty failing to find touch. Fortunately, Biarritz fail to capitalise.

58 mins: Payne has to scramble after a Biarritz garryown, gathers and runs out of defence. Betsen tackles the Munster man but is penalised for an infringement and Munster get the penalty.  

58 mins: For once O'Gara misses his kick and the balls rolls dead, resulting in a scrum on the half way line.

56 mins: Munster fans' voices ring around the stadium, providing much needed support for their players and Donncha O'Callaghan instantly robs from the line-out, but Biarritz deal with the Munster offensive.  

55 mins: With Yachvili dominating the kicking battle so far this half, O'Gara responds with a super cross-field kick that relieves the pressure on Munster and gives them a line-out ten metres from the Biarritz line.

53 mins: Now Damien Traille is off, replaced by Federico Martin Arramburu, though it is not tactics but injury that decides this switch.

54 mins: Lievrement is off, replaced by Theirry Dusautoir as Biarritz attempt to inject some pace into their attack.

52 mins: Yachvili once again slots over a confident kick to drag his side closer to parity. The game seems to be set up for a grand-stand finish.
PENALTY: Munster 20 - 16 Biarritz

51 mins: A high tackle on Harinordoquy by Leamy gives Biarritz another penalty as Munster unnecessarily give their opponents a chance to get back into the game.

49 mins: Biarritz look more confident all of a sudden and Munster are forced to defend as the white shirts attempt to punch through.

48 mins: Yachvili makes it look easy from a difficult position, closing the gap slightly.
PENALTY: Munster 20 - 13 Biarritz

47 mins: Munster deal with a rare Biarritz attack but they don't handle the ensuing line-out as Stringer fails to gather Paul O'Connell's tap down and John Hayes is forced to come from an offside position to prevent a Biarritz player gathering. Penalty Biarritz.

46 mins: Munster easily win their line-out - from the recovered Flannery - and O'Gara sticks the ball down the Biarritz end.

45 mins: Biarritz show how dangerous they are as they raid down the wing. The move ends with Jerry Flannery writhing in agony having taking a stray head in the groin.

44 mins: Couzinet is replaced by Olivier Olibeau for Biarritz.

43 mins: Damien Traille receives in the middle of the field but John Hayes and the rest of the red pack wrap him up. Munster awarded the put-in at the scrum as Biarritz hold the ball on the ground.

43 mins: O'Gara slots over the kick with great ease.
PENALTY: Munster 20 - 10 Biarritz

42 mins: Biarritz have started the second half as they finished the first, and another garryowen is fumbled. Penalty awarded to Munster.

41 mins: Biarritz fail to deal with an O'Gara garryowen and knock it on, but Chris White does not spot it.

41 mins: Ronan O'Gara restarts.

Half-time score: Munster 17 - 10 Biarritz

40 mins: At half-time it's the men in red who hold their heads higher. Their opponents seem beaten already as they trudge to the dressing rooms.

39 mins: O'Connell is on the receiving end of a sneaky stamp by Couzinet in a maul, but he seems to be unhurt. However, touch judge Dave Pearson has once more missed a blatant infringement by the French side.

37 mins: O'Gara finds the corner again as John Hayes seems to be injured.

35 mins: French heads seem to be dropping, and mistakes are creeping into their game as Brusque fumbles to give Munster a line-out.

34 mins: Biarritz seem rocked as Munster control the game through the boot of Ronan O'Gara.

33 mins: O'Gara converts.
CONVERSION: Munster 17 - 10 Biarritz

32 mins: The gamble seems to be paying off and a Munster scrum in front of the line allows Peter Stringer to audaciously pick from the scrum and fly in on the blind side to get over the line. Betsen can only watch.
TRY: Munster 15 - 10 Biarritz

30 mins: Munster once again turn down the chance of three points, though the penalty is not an easy kick this time, as O'Gara decides to go down the line.

29 mins: Biarritz infringe yet again and Munster are awarded a penalty. O'Gara, however, is down with what appears to be a shoulder injury.  

28 mins: Munster manage to turn the ball over, but a dreadful pass by O'Gara puts his colleagues under pressure. The ball is retained, though, and Munster push forward through the phases.

28 mins: Biarritz continue to menace and Ian Dowling's last-ditch kick with Frenchmen bearing down on the try line saves Munster.

27 mins: It's a game of the fly-halves as Yachvili begins to turn the screw on the Munster defence, but Munster do well this time and a blatantly offside tackle by Betsen on Halstead is let go by the referee.

25 mins: The Biarritz restart causes some controversy when Stringer legitmately blocks down Traille's kick, but Chris White gives the Frenchman the chance to do it again.

23 mins: A brief period of Biarritz pressure is relieved as Munster once again thunder down on the Biarritz defence An over-ambitious kick-and-run loses the ball and the momentum for the men in red.

22 mins: Yachvili squeezes the kick inside the posts to level it.
PENALTY: Munster 10 - 10 Biarritz

21 mins: Another collapsed scrum, this time by Munster, results in a penalty for Biarritz.

20 mins: The game enters a lull phase as Biarritz seem to be stunned by Munster's high intensity game. However, worrying for Munster is an injury to Stringer.

18 mins: O'Gara sweetly strikes the conversion. 
CONVERSION: Munster 10 - 7 Biarritz

17 mins: Munster continue to hammer the Biarritz defence and Trevor Halstead receives in space and pushes over.
TRY: Munster 8 - 7 Biarritz

14 mins: O'Gara's kick-and-run is lost to Damien Traille and he and O'Gara end up squaring-up. Chris White seperates them and Biarritz restart.

13 mins: Munster batter the Biarritz defence through 11 phases and the French defence eventually concede the penalty, which O'Gara once again spurns three easy points, choosing instead to put into the corner.

12 mins: O'Gara elects to kick for the corner rather than take the three points.

12 mins: Serge Betsen brings down the scrum again, and Munster are awarded a penalty.

11 mins: Munster show some incisive attacking of their own as they take a quick line out and advance to within twenty metres of the Biarritz line. A forward pass by Ronan O'Gara ends the movement.

10 mins: Biarritz finding it far too easy to get through the Munster defence and Munster get lucky and a scrum for an infringement by Denis Leamy relieves the pressure.

9 mins: Shaun Payne is pulled up for a toe in touch by Tony Spreadbury, the touch judge on the other side. Line-out to Biarritz.

7 mins: Penalty for Munster and O'Gara registers his first points of the final.

5 mins: Biarritz penalised as Imanol Harinordoquy tackles Peter Stringer late.
