Munster face up to the challenge of Perpignan as they try and qualify to face Leinster in the semi-final of the Heineken Cup.

FULL-TIME: Munster come through a scrappy affair and set up an all-Irish semi-final against Leinster. It wasn't vintage display but they'll be more than happy with the end result.

80 mins: A one-man pitch invasion holds up time for another minute.

79 mins: Perpignan try in vain to attack again but knock-on to allow Munster eat up some more time.

77 mins: Paul O'Connell is selected as the RTÉ man of the match.

76 mins: O'Gara and Payne combine to attack up the left wing and Perpignan are stretched to the limit until they force Munster over into touch.

76 mins: Stringer forces a Perpignan knock-on and Munster have a scrum in their own half.

75 mins: Perpignan break up the left wing but Munster get across to cover.

74 mins: Munster concede a penalty off the ball to give Bourret a chance to bring the French side back to within six points. He misses. Munster 19 Perpignan 10

70 mins: Penalty to Perpignan - taken quickly - but Munster hold them back initially. They keep the ball alive but Munster force them to concede a penalty as they attack.

68 mins: Munster switch wings and Perpignan concede another penalty as Stringer is tackled very late. O'Gara scores the penalty to give Munster avital nine-point lead. Munster 19 Perpignan 10

67 mins: Perpignan concede a scrum from the kick-off. They break up the right and edge forward.

66 mins: Munster search for a gap and Perpignan concede a penalty directly in front of the posts. O'Gara converts the penalty. Munster 16 Perpignan 10

64 mins: Munster bring play back into the Perpignan half and win a lineout.

62 mins: Bourret kicks wide from in front of the posts. 

61 mins: Flannery concedes a penalty and gives Perpignan the chance to bring matters level.

60 mins: Laharrague makes another poor attempt for a drop-goal. Less than 20 seconds later he tries from much further out the field and just misses to the right.

59 mins: Laharrague clears to half way.

58 mins: Wallace crashes past a number of challenges as he breaks for the line but the Perpignan defence push him into touch ten metres out.

57 mins: Perpignan clear and Dowling gathers for Munster.

56 mins: Munster attack on the short-side and move to the 22. Perpignan turn over dubiously.

55 mins: The penalty fails to find touch but Perpignan knock-on to concede the scrum.

54 mins: Penalty to Munster as Perpignan hold on.

53 mins:  Perpignan edge closer to the Munster line but they concede a penalty as they advance. There are afters and Durand is sent to the sin-bin.

51 mins: Scrum to Perpignan close to the Munster line.

50 mins: Ronan O'Gara seems to be in agony and he recieves treatment on his ankle. He gets back to his feet to the relief of the Munster fans.

49 mins: Perpignan advance into the Munster half and John Kelly forces them into touch close to the corner.

48 mins: Laharrague brings play deep into the Munster half with a penalty. Munster hold the Perpignan maul back and win a scrum.

46 mins: O'Gara is successful and Munster lead. Munster 13 Perpignan 10

45 mins: Penalty to Munster after another cynical Perpignan interference. O'Gara opts to go for the posts and give Munster the lead.

44 mins: O'Connell steals the lineout and Horan drives forward. Munster use the attack to set up a lineout five metres from the Perpignan line.

43 mins: O'Gara clears from the kick-off and eases the pressure on the Munster defence.

42 mins: Munster steal the ball from the kick-off and win a penalty from a kickable position. O'Gara converts it. Munster 10 Perpignan 10

41 mins: O'Gara gets play underway for the second-half

HALF-TIME: The players retire to the dressing room and Munster will have to improve their performance in the second half if they are to make it to the semi-final against Leinster.

40 mins: Munster attack up the right and the temperature boils over as the players square up to each other.

40 mins: Bourret makes a mess of an attack from halfway and gifts Munster a scrum.

40 mins: Edmans hits a massive clearance to touch near the Munster line.

39 mins: O'Gara launches a Garryowen and Foley claims it but concedes an accidental offside.

38 mins: Leamy seems to gone over on his ankle and will be lucky to continue. Former Perpignan player Mick O'Driscoll comes on to replace him.

36 mins: Bourret converts the penalty to give Perpignan the lead. Munster 7 Perpignan 10

35 mins: Perpignan break through again but make a mess of the clearance and Perpignan attack on the short side. Perpignan force Munster to concede a penalty underneath the posts.

33 mins: Munster search for a hole in the defence but Perpignan hold them out.

32 mins: Munster win a penalty and O'Gara brings play close to the Perpignan line.

28 mins: Scrum to Munster but they lose the ball and Perpignan break forward to score a try with Bourret , who also converts it. Munster 7 Perpignan 7

26 mins: Laharrague tries for the drop goal but misses.

25 mins: Munster steal the ball from the scrum-half and the referee surprisingly awards Perpignan the scrum.

24 mins: From the scrum Munster win the ball back and Stringer touchs down for a 22 drop-out. Payne clears to touch in style as Perpignan attack.

23 mins: Perpignan send a garryowen forward and Shaun Payne takes a massive hit under the dropping ball.

22 mins: O'Gara converts. Munster 7 Perpignan 0

21 mins: O'Connell dives over for the first try of the day. Munster 5 Perpignan 0

20 mins: Munster drive for the line from the lineout. Flannery puts his head down and charges foward. The ball is released to Stringer and Perpignan hold him back.

19 mins: Kelly breaks through, Perpignan slow up the play. O'Gara bursts through again but cynical play from the French side stops the attack and Mas is sent to the bin for ten minutes.

18 mins: Edmans clears to halfway.

17 mins: An O'Gara penalty brings play back to the Perpignan 22.

15 mins: O'Callaghan  drives through and combines with O'Connell who loses the ball as he stretches for the line.

15 mins: O'Gara's crossfield kick goes to touch on the full near the Perpignan line.

13 mins: Munster attack on the left, O'Gara kicks through and Perpignan clear to touch in their own half.

11 mins: Lineout to Perpignan in the Munster half. But they concede a penalty to Munster at the resulting ruck. O'Gara brings play back in to the opposing half.

9 mins: Munster knock forward and Perpignan can clear their line.

8 mins: Munster win the lineout and drive forward with the maul.

7 mins: Munster try to break forward and Perpignan concede another penalty. O'Gara opts to go for touch.

5 mins: From the scrum O'Gara sends a high-ball forward and Munster win a penalty at the resulting ruck. O'Gara brings play to the Perpignan 22.

3 mins: Penalty to Munster, O'Gara clears from the kick.

2 mins: Munster clear their lines, scrum to Perpignan on the Munster 22.

1 min: Edmans gets play underway.
