England have reacted to their disastrous 31-6 Six Nations defeat to France by dropping seven players from the starting XV for their clash with Ireland in Twickenham on Saturday.

The dropped include fly-half Charlie Hodgson, fullback Josh Lewsey, centre Mike Tindall and scrumhalf Matt Dawson, and hooker Steve Thompson.
