Paul O'Connell remains a doubt for Ireland's RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales later this month after scans on his injured shoulder this morning confirmed he had strained his acromio-clavicular (A/C) joint.
The injury, picked up during the 43-31 defeat to France on Saturday, will require rehabilitation over the next week, at which point a further assessment of the injury will be made.
The level of strain to O'Connell's shoulder makes him a doubt for the Wales game in a fortnight's time and an update on O'Connell's injury will be given next week.
However, there was some good news for Eddie O'Sullivan this morning as it was confirmed team captain Brian O'Driscoll would be fit to meet the Welsh at Lansdowne Road.
The inspirational centre left the pitch towards the end of the French encounter in considerable pain with a tight hamstring, but he is expected to make a full recovery in time for the February 26 clash.
