Con send Quins crashing out of Cup

Former Ireland Under-21 international Richard Lane scored four tries as Cork Constitution breezed into the semi-finals of the AIB Cup with a 41-13 win over Belfast Harlequins at Temple Hill.

Con ran in five tries in all, with Munster’s Anthony Horgan also touching down, against a depleted Belfast Harlequins side.

Quins, minus current Irish U-21s Darren Cave and Stuart Philpott, trailed 20-3 at the break. The visitors scored two tries through Nopera Stewart and Mark Kettyle in the second half, but they were little more than consolations.

Typified by the elusive Lane, Con continued to press and fly half Darragh Lyons kicked well for a 16-point haul.
