The IRFU have confirmed that Ireland will face Australia at Perth's Subiaco Oval on June 24 next year as part of their summer tour.

Eddie O'Sullivan's men will be anxious to avenge their 30-14 defeat in the Lansdowne Cup at Lansdowne Road last month.

The ground will be the home base for the Western Force, Australia's new franchise in the expanded Super 14 tournament, which begins in February.

Australia and Ireland have met twice before in Perth, with the hosts winning the 1999 match 32-26 and the 2003 match 45-16.

Australia also faces two test matches against England, with dates and venues still to be finalised, before beginning its expanded tri-nations campaign against South Africa and New Zealand.

The Perth stadium will be familiar to Irish sports fans as it played host to the first Test in this year's International Compromise Rules series with Australia on October 21, which Ireland lost 100-64.
