The IRFU are to issue a statement on Tuesday next in relation to the recent media speculation surrounding Thomond Park in Limerick.
It is understood that they have not abandoned talks with residents in 16 houses close to Thomond Park which they hope to purchase to allow for ground redevelopment.
However, there remains an air of uncertainty about the future of the famous venue and speculation continues that Musgrave Park is to become the home of Munster rugby.
It was revealed last week that Munster Branch of the IRFU had purchased a 10 acre site for development at Singland, on the outskirts of Limerick.
A spokesman emphasised that it was not purchased as a replacement for Thomond Park.
