Italy coach John Kirwan has shaken up his squad in preparation for the clash against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 26 following two consecutive home defeats in the RBS 6 Nations.
Benetton Treviso flanker Silvio Orlando is deputising for Mauro Bergamasco, who is the most notable absentee from Kirwan's selection having suffered a fractured cheekbone in the 38-8 defeat at home to Wales on Saturday.
Full-back Roland De Marigny was another injury victim against Wales as he limped off the Stadio Flaminio pitch with knocks to his ankle and knee.
However, the Parma player is included in the 25-man squad, along with Montpellier centre Cristian Stoica, who returns after being left out of the first two matches of the tournament.
The only real headache for Kirwan is whether Sergio Parisse will be available for the game at Murrayfield.
Italy's number eight will have to go before the disciplinary commission tomorrow following his tackle on Wales player Stephen Jones during the match on Saturday.
The Treviso star has been provisionally included in the squad for the Scotland encounter.
