McCall aims to give Cardiff the blues

Ulster still have the slightest chance of making the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup but it warrants a set of results bizarre in the extreme.

Instead, Mark McCall's team will concentrate on recording their first away victory in the Heineken Cup since, ironically, they defeated Cardiff at the Arms Park two seasons back.

It would be an important step for this young Ulster team to take and should they finish the pool stages with four wins out of six, it would represent an excellent return for a team that are clearly on an upward curve.

"It's important that we learn how to win away in this competition," said McCall.

"You simply have to win away from home if you're to progress to the knock-out stages and that's something we haven't been doing.

"Cardiff are a good team, make no mistake about that, but we feel we have it in us to overturn them."

McCall has switched his side around a little for the game and it will be interesting to see how the recalled Paddy Wallace performs at full-back.

It will be a close game but one Ulster should emerge victors from.
