The Irish selectors have named a squad of 22 players for their upcoming international against South Africa at Lansdowne Road on November 13.

Johnny O'Connor of Wasps is in the squad and looks set to make his senior debut after impressive displays in the Zurich Premiership recently. 

Denis Hickie is named for the first time since the Rugby World Cup in 2003 when he injured his Achilles tendon against Australia in Melbourne.

Donnacha O'Callaghan is included on his return from injury, after impressing for Munster during his side's Heineken Cup victory over the Ospreys last Sunday's at the Gnoll.

Victor Costello, Gordon D'Arcy and Roger Wilson weren't considered due to injury.

The players not included into the 22 will be allowed play for their provinces in this weekend's Celtic League.

After the Test against the Springboks, Ireland face the USA on November 20, and Argentina on November 27.
