Leinster and Ireland centre Gordon D’Arcy has been named as the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year and will receive his award at a banquet in The Berkeley Court Hotel tonight.

Club of the Year award goes to Shannon following their win over Cork Constitution in the AIB League Final. 

And the Tom Rooney Memorial Award, presented for an exceptional contribution to Irish rugby, has been won by Ireland's Triple Crown winning coach Eddie O’Sullivan.

Bill Mulcahy and Noel Murphy will be inducted into the Guinness Hall of Fame.
