Anderson set for new Scottish role

Willie Anderson is to become the new Scottish assistant coach, according to the BBC. The news has yet to be officially confirmed by the SRU but speaking today the current Leinster assistant coach confirmed that he'd got the job.

"I am honoured the Scottish RFU has been sufficiently impressed with my CV to make me this offer," said Anderson.

"Despite having had three positive interviews for the position of head coach with Ulster and Leinster, I am disappointed to be leaving Ireland without being given one of those opportunities.

"I am looking forward to re-uniting my partnership with Matt Williams. This has been a friendship and a working relationship which dates back to 1991."
