Steven Hennessy and Peter Smyth have been appointed as coaches to St Mary's College RFC for the coming season.
Hennessy is a former captain of the club and also a former coach taking the team to AIL semi final in 1999. Smyth is also a former captain and a former Leinster player and both are well known and well respected in rugby circles.
The two have also been involved in recent years with Under 20 rugby and as such would see these players very much as the future of the club. They are looking forward to helping these young players achieve the best for themselves and for St Mary's in the wake of Brent Pope's departure.
Commenting on the appointment, President Ossie Fogarty said "I am extremely pleased that Steve and Peter are coming on board to help rejuvenate the club and get it back to its rightful place in the All Ireland League. All of us in St Mary's offer them are our unstinting support and wish them every success in their endeavours."
