Injured Dallan starts on the bench for Italy

Italian centre Manuel Dallan will start on the bench for their RBS 6 Nations Championship match against France in Paris, after he failed to recover fully from an ankle injury picked up during his side's defeat to England.

Padova centre Matteo Barbini will replace Dallan in Italy's starting line-up, while elsewhere South African-born full-back Roland De Marigny will take the place of the injured Andrea Masi.

The only other change in the Italian line-up sees Stade Francais full-back Mirco Bergamasco replace winger Nicola Mazzucato, who has been dropped to the bench.

Azzurri coach John Kirwan explained the changes and said: "Manuel is 95% recovered and so he has won himself at least a place on the bench. We have to improve our defence and when we have broken our rivals' line, we have to have more eagerness to get a try. Trying to sustain our play with more men, that is what I expect from my men tomorrow."
