Former Springbok coach, Andre Markgraaff, confirmed on Monday that he was officially back in the hunt to fill the vacant national team post.
The controversial coach had recently withdrawn his name from the candidates list following the death of his brother but has confirmed he has re-entered the race to succeed Rudolf Straeuli.
Markgraaff coached the Springboks in 1996 but resigned in disgrace in 1997 following taped conversations in which he used racist remarks to describe black rugby officials.
He runs against three others for the post - Former springbok and current favourite Chester Williams, Blue Bulls coach Heyneke Meyer and Borders Bulldogs coach Dumisani Mhani
The new Bok coach and his two assistants will be announced at the end of January following recommendations from a technical committee headed up by Arthrob Petersen.
