Malcolm O'Kelly has been included in the Leinster team for Saturday's Heineken Cup match against Montferrand in France.
O'Kelly injured his back during last Friday's friendly against Scottish Borders, and has been receiving intensive treatment all week. He is included in the Leinster side despite doubts about his fitness.
Elsewhere, Eric Miller will return to the back-row after injury and has been chosen at number 6 ahead of Aidan McCullen. Emmet Byrne comes into the front row instead of the injured Paul Wallace.
Coach Matt Williams will bring a 25-strong party to France for the game.
The French are without New Zealand international centre Tony Marsh but French internationals David Bory, Gerald Merceron, Olivier Bruzet and Olivier Magne, along with English international Richard Cockerill, are all included in the starting fifteen.
