Fans and players got us here - Kidney

Munster coach Declan Kidney insists that Saturday's Heineken Cup final is all about the players despite it being his final game in charge of Munster. Kidney and Niall O'Donovan will leave Munster for full-time posts as assistant coaches to Ireland's Eddie O'Sullivan following Saturday's showdown with English champions Leicester at the Millennium Stadium. And he is careful to point out that it's a day for the players who've worked so hard to take them there.

He said, "The fact that it's my last game is a nothing now, it can't be anything now. If it was I'd be selfish because it would mean taking away from the players and everything they've been striving for. There are also people who have dipped really deep into their pockets and put themselves out to come and support us and they're the ones we owe it to. Sentiment plays no part in it and it certainly can't win you a match. I've not considered it, you can't. If I were doing that then I wouldn't be doing the job."

He continued, "I'd like to think that I'll finish it out the same way it started, by giving it my best shot and seeing how it works out. The job is a huge honour and it's just a case now of keeping the head down and doing it. Doctors get ready for the next patient, we're getting ready for the next match."

The game kicks off at 3pm.
