Kidney faces anxious wait on injured quartet

Munster coach Declan Kidney faces an anxious wait on the fitness of some key players ahead of the Heineken Cup final against Leicester at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 25. Top of the injured list are second row Paul O'Connell and number eight Anthony Foley.

O'Connell damaged his ankle in the final Interprovincial clash with Ulster last Friday night, while Foley injured his shoulder early in the semi-final against Castres. Former Wallaby flanker Jim Williams and Ireland A winger Anthony Horgan are also both doubtful. Williams has been having treatment on a calf injury, while Horgan has a recurrence of a shoulder problem.

Meanwhile, Leicester flanker Adam Balding will be available for the Heineken Cup final despite being sent off for fighting with Bristol prop Julian White in a recent club game. Both players have been suspended for 14 days following this morning's disciplinary hearing, but Balding's suspension strangely takes effect from last Friday with White's suspension taking effect from today.
