Mick Galwey yesterday praised the efforts of Munster's 10,000 strong travelling support after their Heineiken Cup semi-final heroics against Castres. Munster overcame Castres in Beziers despite losing inspirational No. 8 Anthony Foley after 16 minutes. And Galwey was quick to praise the Munster faithful saying, "The fans were fantastic, we knew they would be loud. But when they started singing the Fields of Athenry when we were warming up it gave us such a big lift. We had to make sure that we won for them."
And Munster coach Declan Kidney, who joins the Irish national set-up at the end of this season, was quick to praise his players saying, "Clearly, the warm weather doesn't do us any harm. Winning twice in France is quite an achievement. But the boys are fantastic. When it comes to resilience there is not a better group. The way they stuck it out was tremendous, we were worried when we lost Anthony Foley becasue he is such a leader up front. It meant putting a lot of extra work towards Mick Galwey. But he was tremendous. He did all the hard yards and was a tremendous example to all the young guys in the team."
Munster will meet the winner of today's other semi final between Leicester and Llanelli in the final on May 25th.
