Northampton scrum-half Matt Dawson has been recalled to the England squad for the Lloyds-TSB Six Nations clash with Wales at Twickenham on March 23. Dawson was axed after skippering England to defeat in Ireland last October, a reverse which ended hopes of a Grand Slam for the third successive time.
The Lions star then suffered a nasty shoulder injury on club duty during the autumn international programme, and has only just returned to action. However, he was outstanding during the Saints 38-7 Powergen Cup semi-final win over Newcastle last weekend, and has been handed an immediate recall by England manager Clive Woodward.
