Irish camp hit by withdrawals

Ireland's training camp in Belfast has been hit by further injury withdrawals. Coach Eddie O'Sullivan had named a 42-man squad to train at Ravenhill for a four-day session starting tomorrow but a total of four players have already withdrawn with a variety of injuries.

The original squad was drawn up without skipper Keith Wood, Leicester wing Geordan Murphy or Ulster second row Jeremy Davidson, and it will now be without Gordon D'arcy, Rob Henderson, Victor Costello and Kevin Maggs. Leinster wing D'arcy has an ankle injury, Munster centre Henderson has a groin problem, Leinster number eight Costello has a knee injury while Maggs broke his arm in action for Bath yesterday.

O'Sullivan has drafted in three replacements so far – Munster's Jason Holland and Jeremy Staunton, as well as Ulster back row Andy Ward.
