Wood out of training squad

Keith Wood has been left out of the Irish rugby squad for next week's Six Nations training session in Belfast. But the Harlequins hooker, who is recovering from a calf injury, says he is still confident of facing Italy at Lansdowne Road at the end of the month. Geordan Murphy and Jeremy Davidson are also out of the training squad because of injury.

It was also announced that all players will be available for selection for this weekend’s AIB league matches except the following: Girvan Dempsey, Rob Henderson, Denis Hickie, Brian O’Driscoll, Ronan O’Gara and Peter Stringer.
