Ireland captain Mick Galway was delighted that his side had been thrown a Six Nations lifeline following their 43-22 victory over Scotland and England's 20-15 defeat to France earlier this afternoon. Today's developments mean the race for the championship is still wide open.
"All of it is to play for again. That is the beauty of the Six Nations," said Galway. "A lot of people would have said that England would be bankers after the result two weeks ago (45-11 victory over Ireland) but now it's all to play for and we are just delighted to be in a position to challenge."
"We were obviously disappointed with the way things went at Twickenham. We know we didn't do ourselves justice and we are delighted with the win," Galwey added. "I don't think 43-22 was a fair reflection, Scotland were very good today."
