Murphy and Henderson out of Scotland clash

Ireland's preparations ahead of their third Six Nations showdown with Scotland at Lansdowne Road have been rocked by the news that Geordan Murphy and Rob Henderson will both miss out after picking up injuries against England on Saturday. Leicester player Murphy sustained knee ligament damage after just six minutes of the 45-11 defeat, while his replacement Henderson went off at half-time with a groin injury.

Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan has called up Tyrone Howe, John Kelly and Mike Mullins from the Ireland A squad, after impressing in their victory over their English counterparts on Friday evening. All three backs will attend the two-day squad session which begins on Wednesday ahead of the March 2 encounter.

There was better news for O'Sullivan with Munster lock Paul O'Connell and Leinster's Shane Horgan both expected to report for training after being ruled out of the Twickenham clash with concussion and a rib injury respectively.
