Heineken Cup organisers are to investigate written complaints from Munster and Castres following Saturday's Pool 4 clash between the two teams at the Stade Pierre-Antoine. Declan Kideny's side, who were beaten 21-13 to miss out on a home draw in the quarter-finals, have decided to cite Castres number 8 Ismaela Lassissi for an alleged biting incident on Peter Clohessy following consultation between senior team management and chief executive Garret Fitzgerald.
Clohessy received a wound to his arm in the incident, and the necessary documentation has been lodged with the European Rugby Cup Limited to deal with the matter. Lassissi could receive a lengthy ban if found guilty.
In response, Castres have also lodged a complaint with ERCL, claiming Ivory Coast flanker Lassissi was subject to racist and discriminatory comments. European Rugby Cup Limited will now convene a disciplinary hearing to examine the citings.
