Dawson injury blow for England

England may be forced to call up two uncapped players to their Six Nations squad for the forthcoming clash with Scotland following Matt Dawson's withdrawal with an ankle injury. Dawson suffered ligament damage while playing for Northampton in the Heineken Cup against Glasgow on Friday and is expected to be out for up to five weeks.

With impending disciplinary action against Austin Healey, it seems likely that England coach Clive Woodward will be forced to include untried players in his squad for the opening match on February 2. Healey has already been fined and suspended by his club Leicester for allegedly kicking an opponent in a match against Sale but could face further sanctions when he appears before a Rugby Football Union tribunal this week. If found guilty, the standard punishment is a six-week suspension.
