Irish boss Warren Gatland is facing a selection headache ahead of Saturday's friendly with New Zealand at Landsdowne Road with four key players facing a race against time to regain match fitness. Lions flanker David Wallace is causing most concern after missing Sunday's 35-8 victory over Samoa with a shoulder injury, while David Humphries (ankle), Anthony Foley (neck) and Eric Miller (groin) are also battling to be fit.
Munster star Wallace, whose immense talent saw him become the third member of his family to play for the Lions in Australia this summer, is a key man in the Irish pack. And Gatland has revealed that he is concerned over Wallace's injury, admitting: "David's injury has not responded as well to treatment as we would have liked. But he still has a few more days to recover and hopefully the shoulder will clear up in time."
London Irish's Kieran Dawson is likely to replace Wallace after impressing against the Samoans, while Foley and Miller are confident despite being substituted at half-time on Sunday. Both sides are expected to name their side tomorrow for the eagerly awaited clash.
