Ulster sign Argentine prop

The IRFU (Ulster Branch) has announced that Argentine tight head prop, Leopoldo de Chazal, has become the second front row signing in a week. Like Mark Crick, Leopoldo will be eligible for all of Ulster's remaining fixtures, after this weekend's clash with Pontypridd.

The 26-year-old, who is a tight head prop, has played on two occasions for Argentina, both in this summer's EPSON Cup against Canada and Uruguay, and toured with Argentina to Australia in the summer of 2000. Leopoldo, has also represented the Tucuman provincial and University teams.

The 5'11 and 18 stone 4lbs prop has won test honours at Under 19, Under 21 and A levels, as well as playing for a Pumas Development side against Namibia last year. Leopoldo arrives in Belfast highly recommended by Alex Wylie, former Head Coach of Argentina, and Augustine Pichot, scrum half at Bristol RFC.
