Ireland could yet face a Six Nations showdown with England in Paris should the foot and mouth situation in the United Kingdom deteriorate further. A contingency plan has been drawn up to ensure the match, postponed from last season because of the foot and mouth crisis, goes ahead.
The match is scheduled to take place at Lansdowne Road on October 20 in Dublin and it is widely expected that the game will go ahead as planned. However, the French capital has been put on standby in case of further difficulties.
