Back fit and ready for Test match

Neil Back is fit and ready to line out for the Lions in next Saturday’s second Test against Australia. The England flanker has fully recovered from the rib injury that ruled him out of contention for last weekend’s first Test victory and is expected to be included in Graham Henry’s line-up, which will be named Friday afternoon.

"I tore a few fibres in a muscle which attaches to the ribs. It wasn't a rib cartilage problem, but if I had tried to play, then I could have missed two or three games," explained the Leicester player. However, he is now fully fit and although has not confirmed that he will be part of Henry’s plans for Saturday’s match, he is well aware of what is involved.

"It is vital to win the second Test as I know from South Africa in 1997. That game was the biggest match I have ever been involved in. We know that the Australians will be really up for it on Saturday, but we have got a fantastic squad," he added.
