Ireland's David McHugh has been appointed as the referee for next month's Heineken European Cup final between Leicester and Stade Francais. McHugh will take charge of the prestigious tie at the Parc des Princes on May 19 where Stade Francais, victors over Munster in the semi-finals, are favourites to beat the English champions Leicester.
This is McHugh's second time officiating a European Cup final. He was the referee in charge of the inaugural event back in 1996 when Toulouse beat Cardiff in extra time. Meanwhile, the final of the European Shield between Harlequins from London and French side Narbonne will take place at the Reading's Madejski Stadium.
