Glasgow Caledonians and former Bath scrum-half Andy Nicol has been named Scotland captain today for Sunday's Six Nations championship match against England. Nicol, who led his country against Australia in 1997, took over from the injured John Leslie. New Zealand-born Leslie was withdrawn from the squad after medical scans by both the Scottish Rugby Union and his club Newcastle Falcons revealed inflammation around his left ankle.
