France 2023 will be Porter's second World Cup, having played as Tadhg Furlong’s tighthead replacement in Japan four years ago.
Now Ireland’s first choice loosehead, the Leinster prop moved to an IRFU central contract in 2022, and is one of the first names on Andy Farrell’s teamsheet, reaching his 50th Test cap during 2023 Six Nations.
Selected for the 2021 British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa in 2021, Porter missed out on the series due to injury.
