Munster captain O’Mahony is closing in on 100 caps for his country, and may well hit that mark during the World Cup.
The veteran flanker has been a key part of Ireland’s success in the last two years, starting all three Tests of the series win in New Zealand, as well as featuring in every one of Ireland’s Six Nations games in 2023.
O’Mahony, who will turn 34 during the tournament, has filled in as captain on several occasions, while he also captained the British and Irish Lions in their first Test against New Zealand in 2017.
