New Zealand prop forward Tony Woodcock has been ruled out of the World Cup with a hamstring injury.

The prop scored a first-half try for the All Blacks in their 47-9 victory over Tonga in Pool C at St James' Park yesterday evening, but limped off in the second period with the injury.

The injury will mark the end of 34-year-old Woodcock's international rugby career after 118 Test appearances.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joe Moody, of Canterbury, has been called up in Woodcock's place.
