Fintan McCarthy and Philip Doyle's World Rowing Championships semi-final has been postponed until tomorrow after wind in Shanghai caused issues for organisers.

The double sculls crews were already on the water when informed that the lanes would need to be changed but after technical issues with the timing system and an initial reschedule, the decision was made to run the semi-finals tomorrow instead, at 4.15am Irish time.

Lightweight scullers Siobhán McCrohan (3.37am) and Jake McCarthy (3.49am) also race in semi-finals on Thursday, while men's pair Ross Corrigan and Nathan Timoney go in their A final at 7.44am (Live on RTÉ Player).

Earlier today, Tiarnán O'Donnell and Sadhbh Ni Laoghaire were fourth in their mixed double sculls heat, and they will now compete in the B final on Saturday.

The duo fought hard but were unable to match the early pace of the race, holding their position throughout to finish with a time of 9:09.88.

Konan Pazzaia was also fourth in his heat of the men's single sculls and will go to the C final on Friday.

The race was tightly contested over the first 1,000 metres, with Pazzaia battling between fourth and fifth position. A powerful sprint in the final stages saw him secure fourth place with a time of 7:22.07.
