Olympic silver medallist Paul O'Donovan will compete with a new partner at the final World Cup Regatta in Rotterdam later this month.
The younger of the O'Donovan brothers will team up with 22-year-old Fintan McCarthy, after their boat performed best at recent Ireland trials.
Paul's brother and fellow Olympic medallist Gary O'Donovan will instead go in the lightweight singles, which is not an Olympic event.
The Irish crews will arrive and train in Rotterdam on Tuesday in preparation for the World Rowing Cup III that takes place from 12 to 14 July.
