Sanita Puspure booked her place in the women's single sculls final at the Olympic qualification regatta in Switzerland with a composed semi-final display.

After winning her heat yesterday, qualification for the final was never in doubt as the Irish rower maintained second place throughout today's race in Lucerne, finishing behind New Zealand's Emma Twigg but six seconds ahead of Latvian Elza Gulbe in third.

Puspure is the third fastest qualifier for tomorrow's final, and with four places available for the Olympics, a performance of similar quality should be enough to see the 34-year-old safely book her passage to Rio.
