The Irish men’s lightweight four of Gearoid Towey, Eugene Coakley, Richard Archibald and Paul Griffin have comfortably won their heat on the opening day of the Rowing World Cup in Munich.
They now progress directly to tomorrow’s semi-final (provisionally 4.20pm Irish time).
Following this morning’s heats the remaining seven Irish boats competing will all contest the repechages later this evening to try and gain qualification for their respective semi-finals tomorrow.
