Jim Bolger has listed his training base at Glebe House on the Kilkenny-Carlow border on sale for €4m as he consolidates his operation and prepares to move to his farm in Rathvilly.
The legendary trainer has operated from the 150-acre property for over four decades, sending out nearly 3,000 winners and 55 Group One winners in that time, including the likes of St Jovite, Alexander Goldrun, New Approach, Finsceal Beo, Teofilo and Dawn Approach.
Equine talent aside, future luminaries of the turf such as Willie Mullins, Aidan O'Brien and Tony McCoy spent time under Bolger's tutelage at Glebe House before forging remarkable careers of their own.
Built in 1760, the main residence features six en-suite bedrooms, alongside staff quarters, gallops and 150 boxes.
Bolger, who will turn 85 on Christmas Day, has already sold the 84-acre Redmondstown Stud as he restructures his bloodstock interests and there has been a notable increase in sales of Bolger's homebred stock.
In late 2025, Bolger told the Racing Post: "I bought a farm in Rathvilly 12 or 13 years ago and it was always my intention that everything would be consolidated there, but it’s taken me a while to get around to it.
"Eventually we decided that we’d reduce the number of mares and keep them there.
"I’m cutting back on the training as well. I’m just letting it happen and it’s going nicely. We’ve always sold a few, and I will until I get the numbers down.
"Then I’ll just train what’s coming along."
