Navan is hoping to survive Saturday afternoon's check

There will be a 3pm inspection on Saturday at Navan ahead of the fixture scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Following a total of 35mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, the track at the Co Meath venue is now unfit for racing due to waterlogging.

Brian Hamilton, IHRB clerk of the course said: There was a status yellow rainfall warning introduced for Meath late yesterday morning and since then we have got significantly more rain than was initially forecast.

"The status yellow warning for the area is to end at 12pm today and we could get a further 5-10mm of rain. However, from later today we do have a more favourable forecast and it is to be mainly dry and breezy tomorrow into Sunday.

"Due to the current conditions and the favourable forecast we will have an inspection at 3pm on Saturday to assess the situation and we'll give a further update then."
