Jockey Michael O'Sullivan is in intensive care at Cork University Hospital following a fall at Thurles on Thursday.
Racing was abandoned at the County Tipperary racetrack as a result of the final-fence fall for O'Sullivan, who was riding Wee Charlie and was one of three fallers in the two-mile chase.
O'Sullivan received treatment on the course before being transferred by air ambulance to the Cork facility.
A statement released by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board said: "Michael is in the intensive care unit at Cork University Hospital being treated for injuries sustained at Thurles yesterday and is receiving the best medical care.
"Michael's family wish to express their gratitude for all the well wishes."
