Racing at Punchestown on Sunday is in doubt with an inspection due to take place at 7.30am, but officials are confident it will go ahead.
Following 78mm of rain since entries, the track is heavy and remains fit for racing. Overnight forecast is for the possibility of a further six to eight millimetres of rain.
IHRB Clerk of the Course at Punchestown, Brendan Sheridan, said: "We have had a total of 78mm of rain in total here at Punchestown since entries closed for this meeting. Between entries and declarations we had 66mm of rain and since declarations yesterday we've had a further 12mm.
"Having spoken with Met Éireann this afternoon, they are forecasting a further six to eight millimetres of rain tonight through tomorrow. The track at Punchestown is currently heavy but fit for racing.
"However, with the current forecast and possibility for more rain tonight we will hold an inspection tomorrow morning at 7.30am. If the forecast is correct I would be hopeful that we will be able to race"
