There will be a 7am precautionary inspection at The Curragh on Tuesday morning with a more optimistic outlook the meeting may go ahead.
The first of an eight-race card is due off at 12.20pm.
Brendan Sheridan, IHRB clerk of the course said: "The situation has certainly improved at The Curragh since declaration time yesterday. We have had just over 2mm of rain since declarations but a lot of the standing water which was on the track following the heavy rain on Saturday night is now gone.
"There is a light drizzle here at present which is due to clear and thankfully we didn't get anything near the 15mm which was forecast at declaration time yesterday.
"The forecast is due to be mainly dry through to racing tomorrow afternoon before the heavy volumes of rain are set to return.
"We will inspect at 7am on Tuesday to determine if racing can go ahead but we have a chance. If racing goes ahead we will race up the middle track for tomorrow"
The two-day meeting at Wexford was cancelled over Sunday and Monday due to heavy rain.
